The conference will be hosted in the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza in the center of Rome, near the Colosseum and the ancient church of San Pietro in Vincoli.
The Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering is located in the area where the old convent of San Lorenzo in Panisperna was built. The Faculty is built around a Renaissance cloister, attributed to Giuliano da Sangallo.
The Faculty is adjacent to Parco di Colle Oppio, an archeological green area on the Oppian Hill, the southern spur of the Esquiline Hill, one of the Septimontium of ancient Rome. Here you can find the ancient ruins of Domus Aurea and Terme di Traiano.
From Colosseum, take the escalators inside the Metro B station in Via dei Fori Imperiali and once you are on the top, please have first the great and impressive panoramic view of Colosseum, Costantino Arch, Palatino hill and Fori Imperiali, then take via della Polveriera and from Largo della Polveriera make a left and you are on Via Eudossiana.
From via Cavour, take either the stairs in front of Palatino Hotel which bring you in front of S. Pietro in Vincoli Basilica, or from Metro B station (Cavour) take the stairs of via Monte Polacco: once on the top either make a right towards S. Pietro in Vincoli or walk on your left side to via delle Sette Sale and enter the back entrance of the Faculty.
